Science Fair Projects For 5th Grade / Grade K-12 Review
When I was in elementary school 35 years ago , it was so easy to do a science project.
I made a trip-tik science board from a cardboard box and then wrote the topic and procedure. Then I made an egg squeeze into a bottle or made a model of a volcano.
Those were the good old days. Children today are expected to choose a science project that will include a topic, submit their proposal, write a hypothesis , perform the experiment with 3 trials including graph and charts with results, giving out an oral report and pretend they did this without help from their parents or elders.
But the truth is almost all parents are struggling to produce or come out with a science project for their children especially for a 5 years old.
However, over the years we’ve learned to understand some of the scientific jargon into words that we and our children can understand.
A science project doesn’t have to be complicated. Actually the hard part is finding a good project. Here are some things that you need to learn more:
1.Is the project suitable for your child?
Make sure you know which kind of experiments that are required by the teacher and for which categories for example: collection , model , research , demonstration or investigative.
2.Can your child do it or you need to help your chid with the project?
Find a project that your child can do without your help and you will only offer assistance if he/she is stuck with the project.
3.Will the project works?
There are many projects that we have tried but wouldn’t work especially that you will find it for free online.
4.Are the supplies for the project easy to find and affordable?
Find projects that are easy to build and all the supplies are affordable.
5.Will your child learn from the project?
The main goal for the science project is for you and your child to have more knowledge about science.
